Assassination Rogue Settings Explained: Every Tab in the LUX Window

· 7 min read

Type /lux in game to open the LUX window. The Assassination rotation adds its own tabs next to the General tab, and almost everything the rotation does is a switch or a slider there. Settings are saved per character, and the defaults described here are the ones LUX ships with.

General tab

The General tab belongs to LUX itself, not to the rotation. It holds the chat level (quiet by default, with Normal and Debug above it), whether the rotation resumes by itself after a /reload (on by default), and two optional helpers that are both off by default: turning toward the target and targeting the nearest enemy when you are in combat without a target. Each has its own range or cone setting.

A line-of-sight check is shown on the tab but dimmed. It is planned and not active.

Opener tab

This tab covers what happens out of combat. Stealth when out of combat is the only option that is on by default here. Poisons stay at None until you pick them.

  • Opener from stealth: None, Sinister Strike, Cheap Shot (default), Garrote or Ambush
  • Poisons: a lethal and a second lethal poison, a non-lethal and a second non-lethal poison
  • Stealth right after dismounting and auto-dismount near a hostile target, both off
  • Offensive racial on cooldown and trinket slots 13 and 14 with Deathmark, all off

Offense tab

Bleeds, builders, finishers and cooldowns. Garrote, Rupture, Mutilate, Ambush on a Blindside proc, Envenom or Eviscerate, Slice and Dice, Deathmark and Kingsbane are on by default. The minimum combo points for a finisher defaults to 4.

Everything else here is off by default: Poisoned Knife at range, Serrated Bone Spike, Shiv during Deathmark, Cold Blood, Thistle Tea at 40 energy or less, and Echoing Reprimand with a minimum energy of 50. Fan of Knives and Crimson Tempest are the AoE options and are marked Experimental.

Defense tab

Crimson Vial is on by default and fires below 50% health. Evasion, Feint, Cloak of Shadows on magic debuffs, Vanish, Smoke Bomb, a Healthstone and a health potion are available, each off by default and each with its own health threshold. You can also name a combat potion that is used together with Deathmark.

Keys tab

Hold Shift, Ctrl or Alt to fire one action on the next tick: Vanish, Evasion or Sprint on Shift, Shadowstep, Blind on your focus or Smoke Bomb on Ctrl, Kidney Shot, Sap or Gouge on Alt. All three are None by default. This tab also holds Shadowstep plus Kick on a casting target, Shadowstep or Sprint to close a gap, and Dismantle on enemy players. The modifier keys, Shadowstep plus Kick and Dismantle are marked Experimental.

Misc tab

The humanizer sets a minimum delay between casts, from 0 to 2 seconds. At 0 the rotation casts as fast as the global cooldown allows, and interrupts ignore the delay. Auto-attack is on by default.

Kick on the target, Kick on any enemy casting in melee range, Sap from stealth, Gouge and Blind on your focus and Kidney Shot are all off by default and marked Experimental. Auto-facing, automatic focus on the nearest enemy player and switching to an enemy in melee range are off by default too.

Experimental and dimmed options

Experimental means implemented and still being tested in live play. Dimmed options, such as the talent-string check, are shown for what is coming and cannot be changed yet.

For the full table of defaults, see the Assassination rotation page. To understand why the rotation orders its decisions the way it does, read the priority guide. Prices for the keys are on the pricing page.
