Assassination Rogue Rotation for WoW Midnight
In short
The LUX Assassination rotation plays single-target Assassination Rogue: it keeps Garrote and Rupture rolling, spends combo points on Envenom or Eviscerate, uses Deathmark and Kingsbane once both bleeds are up, and handles poisons, stealth and openers out of combat. Almost everything is a setting in the in-game /lux window, saved per character.
How the rotation decides, in combat
The rotation works through these steps in order every tick and acts on the first one that applies. Items marked off by default only run when you switch them on.
Experimental means implemented, still being tested in live play. The core single-target rotation is not labelled.
Modifier-key actionsExperimental
Holding Shift, Ctrl or Alt fires one action you chose on the Keys tab (for example Vanish, Kidney Shot or Shadowstep). Off by default.
Target check
The rotation idles when there is no target, the target cannot be attacked, or it is dead. The reason is written to the LUX log (shown in chat at the Normal chat level, or with /lux log).
Out of melee range
Optionally switches to an enemy that is in melee range, Shadowsteps to a casting target to Kick it, closes a gap with Shadowstep or Sprint (8 to 25 yd), or throws Poisoned Knife at range. All off by default.
Experimental Shadowstep plus Kick and switching to an enemy in melee range are experimental.
InterruptsExperimental
Optionally Kicks the target's cast, or any enemy casting within melee range. Off by default.
Burst extras
Optionally uses trinkets (slots 13 and 14) and a combat potion you name while Deathmark is on the target, and an offensive racial on cooldown. All off by default.
Defensives
Crimson Vial is on by default (below 50% health). Evasion, Feint, Cloak of Shadows, Vanish, Smoke Bomb, Healthstone and a health potion are optional, each with its own health threshold.
Experimental The Smoke Bomb enemy count is experimental.
Crowd control and Kidney ShotExperimental
Optional Dismantle on enemy players, Blind and Gouge on your focus, and Kidney Shot when the target is casting, with Deathmark, or at low health.
Bleeds
Garrote is refreshed in the last seconds of its duration. Rupture does the same from 3 combo points. Both are on by default.
Major cooldowns
Deathmark, Kingsbane and (optionally) Shiv are used only while both Garrote and Rupture are active. Deathmark and Kingsbane are on by default. If you enable Smoke Bomb, it is also used offensively at 4 or more combo points when the target is stunned or marked and low on health.
Slice and Dice
Kept up (on by default). Refreshed once the bleeds are safe; with Cut to the Chase it is applied only when missing.
Crimson TempestExperimental
Optional. Used at 2 or more enemies within 10 yd once Garrote and Rupture are healthy. Off by default.
Finisher
Envenom (or Eviscerate when Envenom is not known) at your minimum combo points, default 4. Optional Cold Blood before it.
Builder
Ambush on a Blindside proc, then optional Serrated Bone Spike and Echoing Reprimand, then Mutilate (Sinister Strike if Mutilate is not known). Optional Fan of Knives at 3 or more enemies.
Experimental Fan of Knives is experimental.
Out of combat
Poisons
Keeps your chosen lethal and non-lethal poisons applied, with a second slot of each. Set to None by default.
Stealth
Casts Stealth when out of combat (on by default). Optionally right after you dismount.
Opener
From stealth, opens with the spell you chose: Sinister Strike, Cheap Shot (default), Garrote or Ambush, when the target is in melee range.
Sap
Optionally Saps your focus, or enemies around you that are not in combat, while you are stealthed.
Dismount
Optionally dismounts when a hostile target is within 20 yd.
Settings
Open the window with /lux. These are the tabs for this rotation and the default of every option. Settings are saved per character. Options marked Experimental are implemented and still being tested in live play.

Limits in this beta
- Single target. Options that count or scan enemies (Fan of Knives, Crimson Tempest, Smoke Bomb enemy count, interrupting other enemies, target switching, Sap around you) need enemy positions, which may be unavailable. When they are, those options do nothing or do not block the rotation.
- Line-of-sight checking is not available yet (shown dimmed in the General tab).
- The talent-string check and "Detect and Sap stealthed enemies" are shown dimmed and are not active yet.
- This is a public beta: expect rough edges, and report what you find.

Assassination Rogue FAQ
Does the Assassination rotation work on bosses and in dungeons?
It plays single target on whatever you have targeted. It does not have separate Mythic+, raid or delve logic.
Does it use Deathmark on cooldown?
Yes, by default, once both Garrote and Rupture are active. A separate switch allows Deathmark in PvE only, which keeps it out of arenas and battlegrounds.
Does it interrupt?
Only if you turn it on. Kick on the target, Kick on any enemy casting in melee range, and Shadowstep plus Kick are separate switches, all off by default. They are marked Experimental: implemented, still being tested in live play.
Does it do AoE?
Optionally. Fan of Knives (from 3 enemies by default) and Crimson Tempest (from 2 enemies) are both off by default and need enemy position information. Both are marked Experimental: implemented, still being tested in live play.
Does it turn my character or pick targets for me?
Only if you enable it. Auto-face and auto-target are options on the General tab and are off by default.
Do I need a special talent build?
No build is enforced. The rotation checks which spells you know and skips the ones you do not have. A talent-string check is planned but not active.
